Beats and The Pokémon Company International are teaming up on a special-edition Beats Pill speaker featuring Pikachu and Mimikyu. The Pokémon x Beats Pill will launch on Thursday, October 15, at the same $149.99 price as other Beats Pill models.
The limited-edition speaker will be sold only in the United States, United Kingdom, and China. Customers in all three markets will be able to buy it through Apple's website, while additional retailers and platforms will vary by region.
Pokémon design and included charms
The speaker uses the standard Beats Pill design, with a gray body and grille decorated with Pokémon artwork. Pikachu and Mimikyu are featured prominently on the grille, giving the speaker its main visual distinction from existing versions.
It also comes with a set of Pokémon-themed charms. The included accessories feature a Poké Ball, the Beats “b” logo, and Pikachu's recognizable lightning bolts.
“Pokémon Trainers are some of the most passionate in the world, and we saw an opportunity to channel that energy into something fun, unexpected, and created especially for fans,” Beats Chief Marketing Officer Chris Thorne said. He described the collaboration as a way for fans to express their interest in Pokémon through sound.
Beats Pill features remain unchanged
Beyond the artwork and accessories, the Pokémon x Beats Pill has the same core features as other Beats Pill speakers. Beats rates the portable speaker for up to 24 hours of battery life, while its IP67 rating provides dust resistance and protection from water.
The speaker can wirelessly connect with a second Beats Pill. Users can configure the pair in Amplify Mode for wider output or Stereo Mode for separate left and right channels.
When connected to a source through USB-C, the Beats Pill can play lossless audio. Its USB-C port can also charge compatible phones, adding a power-bank function for users carrying the speaker away from an outlet.
Where to buy the Pokémon x Beats Pill
In the United States, the speaker will be available through Apple's website and Target online and at select Target stores. UK customers can purchase it from Apple's website and Argos online and at select Argos locations.
In China, availability will be limited to Apple's website and Douyin. The restricted launch means the special edition will not be broadly available in other regions through the listed sales channels.
