Cultured Code has released Things 3.24, an update that brings its popular task manager in line with Apple's iOS 27 by adding support for the new Siri AI and system-wide Spotlight search. The release lands alongside Apple's launch of iOS 27, giving users of the app a set of features tied directly to the updated operating system.

Creating tasks with Siri AI

The headline change is full integration with Siri AI, which lets users create to-dos by speaking naturally rather than typing them into the app. According to Cultured Code, once a task has been created, the conversation can continue so that notes, start dates, and alerts are added without ever opening Things.

The approach reflects a broader shift toward conversational, assistant-driven interactions in iOS 27, where third-party apps can hook into Siri's expanded capabilities. For frequent Things users, that means the app can be operated hands-free for common actions like capturing and refining tasks.

Spotlight indexing and privacy controls

Things 3.24 also indexes a user's entire database in Spotlight, allowing individual to-dos and projects to appear in system-wide search results. Siri AI draws on that same index to complete requests, tying the two features together.

Cultured Code has included a control for users who would rather not expose their task data to system search. The Spotlight indexing feature can be switched off in the app's settings, keeping task information out of Spotlight and, by extension, out of Siri AI's reach for those who prefer stricter separation.

Snooze options and a new widget

Beyond the AI-focused additions, the update expands notification handling with a wider range of snooze intervals. Users can now choose 15-minute, one-hour, and three-hour delays, along with a new "snooze until tomorrow" option for deferring reminders.

The release also introduces an XL Portrait widget, giving users a way to view longer lists directly from the Home Screen. Cultured Code notes that the update includes various other compatibility improvements for the new operating system.
