Samsung's next flagship tablets appear to have a launch date. According to leaker Evan Blass, the Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra will be unveiled on October 7, ending months of uncertainty over when the premium slates would arrive.

The company had confirmed the tablets would land before the end of the year, but the timing was never pinned down. Many expected them to debut alongside the Galaxy S26 FE. Instead, they will reportedly follow roughly a month later.

Why the delay is surprising

The scheduling has raised questions because the previous generation, the Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra, launched in early September alongside the Galaxy S25 FE. Extensive leaks suggest the new models are effectively ready to ship, having passed the usual certification stages, so the reason for pushing the reveal into October is unclear.

What the leaks show

The pre-release picture is already fairly complete. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra has appeared on Geekbench running a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, and the Tab S12+ is expected to use the same silicon. Leaked renders indicate Samsung is playing it safe on design, with the Ultra still carrying its display notch.

On the hardware side, the Ultra is tipped to keep its 14.6-inch display, while the Plus sticks with a 12.4-inch panel. As with last year, there is no standard 11-inch model in the lineup, mirroring the absence of a Tab S11+ in the prior generation.

The Ultra's battery reportedly stays at 11,600mAh with 45W charging. The Tab S12+, however, may receive a battery bump over the Tab S10+, according to the leaks.

Leaked pricing

Pricing has also surfaced for the Wi-Fi-only versions, with 5G models expected to cost an additional $150. The reported figures are:

  • Tab S12+ 256GB: $1,200
  • Tab S12+ 512GB: $1,400
  • Tab S12 Ultra 256GB: $1,400
  • Tab S12 Ultra 512GB: $1,600
  • Tab S12 Ultra 1TB: $2,000

The Tab S12+ tops out at 512GB, while the Ultra offers a 1TB configuration for buyers who need maximum storage.

Why it matters

Samsung remains one of the few major manufacturers competing at the high end of the Android tablet market, and the Tab S12 series is positioned to challenge Apple's larger iPad Pro models. With specs and pricing already circulating, the October 7 date—if accurate—would give buyers little left to guess before the official announcement. As always, none of these details are confirmed until Samsung makes them official.
