Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A58 could retain the same camera resolution lineup as the current Galaxy A57, according to a report from Dutch publication GalaxyClub. The reported specifications suggest the next model may not bring an obvious camera upgrade, although the sensors themselves could still differ.
Samsung has not announced the Galaxy A58. The phone is expected to arrive around March or April next year, following the Galaxy A57’s launch in March.
Galaxy A58 camera specifications
GalaxyClub reports that the Galaxy A58 will feature a 50-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, a 5-megapixel macro camera and a 12-megapixel front-facing camera.
Those resolution figures match the camera arrangement reported for the Galaxy A57. Resolution alone does not reveal the full performance of a camera, however. Samsung could still use newer or physically larger sensors in the A58, but there is currently no information confirming such changes.
The lack of a reported resolution increase may disappoint buyers looking for a more substantial camera improvement. It also leaves the camera system’s actual image quality unclear until more details emerge or Samsung officially announces the phone.
Expected software and launch timing
The Galaxy A57 launched with Android 16 and Samsung’s One UI 8.5 software. GalaxyClub’s report indicates that the Galaxy A58 is expected to move to Android 17 with One UI 9.5 when it launches.
That software change would give the newer phone a more current platform at release, even if the listed camera resolutions remain unchanged. Samsung has not yet confirmed the software version or the phone’s release schedule.
What remains unknown
Important Galaxy A58 details are still unavailable, including its design, processor, display, battery, charging capabilities and pricing. The camera report also does not identify the sensor models or explain whether Samsung will make optical or image-processing improvements.
For now, the reported specifications point to a relatively cautious camera update over the Galaxy A57. More information is expected in the coming months, while Samsung’s official announcement will be needed to confirm the hardware and launch plans.
