Samsung's next entry-level phone, the Galaxy A08, has appeared on a UAE online retailer ahead of any formal announcement, revealing its complete specification sheet, official product images and pricing. The listing shows the phone available for AED 625 (about $170), discounted from a recommended price of AED 659 (about $179).

The device had already made the rounds through certification channels, showing up in the Google Play Console in August and receiving approval from Brazil's Anatel regulator shortly after. The retail listing is the clearest look yet at what buyers can expect from the low-cost handset.

Samsung Galaxy A08 specifications

The Galaxy A08 is built around a 6.7-inch PLS LCD panel with a 90Hz refresh rate. The Google Play Console listing pegged the screen resolution at 720x1600. On the camera side, it carries a 50MP main sensor paired with a 2MP depth sensor, plus an 8MP front-facing camera.

Powering the phone is an unnamed octa-core chipset clocked at 2.2GHz. The earlier Play Console listing identified this as the MediaTek Helio G99. A 6,000 mAh battery with 25W fast charging keeps the lights on.

Memory options include a base 4GB RAM and 64GB expandable storage configuration, with a higher 6GB/128GB variant also apparently on offer. The A08 is IP64-rated for dust and splash resistance, supports dual-SIM, measures 8mm thick and comes in Navy Blue, Silver and Green.

What has changed from the Galaxy A07

Compared with the Galaxy A07 that launched in August 2025, the most notable upgrade is battery capacity. The A08's 6,000 mAh cell is roughly 20% larger than its predecessor's. Beyond that, the listing suggests little else has been altered between the two generations.

Why it matters

Samsung's A0-series phones sit at the very bottom of its lineup and typically account for enormous global sales volumes in price-sensitive markets. Small, incremental changes like a bigger battery matter here because these devices compete heavily on endurance and value rather than headline features.

With the phone already listed and seemingly purchasable in the UAE, a broader rollout in other regions is likely to follow soon. Samsung has not officially confirmed the Galaxy A08 or its pricing, so buyers should treat availability and specifications as subject to change until the company makes a formal announcement.
