Apple’s upcoming iPhone Duo appears to include a two-page layout in Quick Look, allowing users to preview consecutive document pages side by side when the foldable phone is opened like a book. The feature was identified by code explorer pdfu, who shared a video showing the interface on October 6.

In the clip, an Apple Style Guide document spans both halves of the unfolded display. Rather than showing a single enlarged page, Quick Look presents two pages together in a layout resembling a printed document spread.

How Quick Look uses the unfolded display

The two-page view appears to activate when the iPhone Duo is held in its open-book orientation. This gives the document preview a wider format and makes it possible to see adjacent pages without repeatedly moving between them.

The video also shows Quick Look controls positioned along the right side of the interface. Search, markup, and sharing tools remain available while the document is displayed across the two sections of the screen.

Apple has previously described iOS 27 adaptations for the iPhone Duo, including layouts that respond to the device’s angle and support side-by-side multitasking. The Quick Look design suggests that Apple is also adjusting individual system features to make use of the foldable’s larger open display.

What the layout could mean for document viewing

A two-page preview could be useful for reading longer documents, comparing adjacent pages, and checking the overall structure of a file. It may also make the iPhone Duo feel more like a compact reading or productivity device when it is fully unfolded.

However, the feature is currently based on a video of an apparent software build and has not been separately detailed by Apple. The clip shows the layout in Quick Look, but it does not establish whether the option will be available for every supported document type or whether users will be able to switch between one-page and two-page views.

iPhone Duo release timing

Pre-orders for the iPhone Duo are scheduled to open at 5 a.m. Pacific Time on Friday, October 16, with availability beginning Friday, October 23. The two-page Quick Look interface is one of several software features expected to take advantage of the device’s foldable form factor.

Apple’s approach may give the Duo a more distinct role than simply providing a larger screen. By changing how system apps present information when the phone is open, iOS 27 can make the device’s different positions useful for specific tasks.
