An early Geekbench 7 result suggests Apple’s upcoming iPhone Duo will offer performance broadly comparable to the iPhone 18 Pro. The benchmarked device uses the same A20 Pro processor as Apple’s current Pro models and was tested with iOS 27.1 ahead of the phone’s launch.

The iPhone Duo recorded a single-core score of 3,986 and a multi-core score of 11,067 in the Geekbench 7 test. Those figures are broadly consistent with several results recorded for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, although the result does not match the highest scores seen from those devices.

iPhone Duo benchmark results

The benchmark identifies the device as iPhone19,4. It lists a six-core CPU with a reported base frequency of 4.93GHz, matching the configuration identified in iPhone 18 Pro benchmark results.

The test also reports 11.30GB of available memory, which indicates that the iPhone Duo has 12GB of RAM. The device was running iOS 27.1 during testing, rather than a release version intended for general availability.

Geekbench scores can vary between individual runs because of software, temperature and system conditions. As a result, one benchmark does not establish a definitive performance ranking. The early result does, however, point to the iPhone Duo using hardware that is close to the iPhone 18 Pro platform.

How the A20 Pro compares with the A19 Pro

Apple says the A20 Pro delivers up to 20 percent faster CPU performance than the A19 Pro. The company also claims up to a 40 percent improvement in GPU performance.

The available Geekbench result measures CPU performance only, so it does not provide an independent indication of the A20 Pro’s graphics capabilities. The benchmark also cannot show how the iPhone Duo will perform in longer workloads or demanding games.

Thermal performance could differ

Although the iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro models use the same A20 Pro chip, their real-world performance may not be identical. Thermal management, the Duo’s two-screen design and other hardware factors could affect sustained speeds and power consumption.

Short benchmark runs typically measure peak performance rather than how a device behaves over extended use. More results will be needed to determine whether the iPhone Duo maintains performance comparable to the iPhone 18 Pro under heavier workloads.

iPhone Duo pre-orders and launch date

Pre-orders for the iPhone Duo are scheduled to begin on October 16, with the official launch expected to follow on October 23. Additional retail availability and production details were not included in the benchmark information.
