Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 upgrade cycle is showing stronger-than-expected demand in the United States, with consumers appearing increasingly willing to choose premium models and higher storage capacities. The findings come from an Evercore ISI survey of nearly 4,000 US consumers, as reported by Investing.com.

The survey measures stated purchase intentions rather than completed sales, so it does not confirm how many people will ultimately buy an iPhone 18. However, Evercore believes the results point to a stronger revenue outlook for Apple’s fiscal 2027 than the approximately 7% growth currently expected by analysts.

iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max lead buyer interest

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max together accounted for 53% of respondents’ intended purchases. The Pro Max alone attracted 32% of prospective buyers, up from 29% in Evercore’s previous survey.

That shift suggests Apple’s most expensive iPhone models could capture a larger share of demand during the next upgrade cycle. Evercore estimates that the average iPhone selling price could rise by about 28%, combining higher retail prices with stronger interest in premium models and larger storage configurations.

The survey also found that 67% of respondents identified the age of their current iPhone as the main reason to upgrade. That compares with 48% in the previous year’s survey, indicating that a larger portion of consumers may be reaching the point where replacing an older device feels necessary.

Reported 2TB storage options could lift prices

Evercore’s average-price forecast includes reported 2TB storage options for the iPhone 18 Pro models and the foldable iPhone Duo. The source material does not provide confirmed pricing or indicate whether those configurations will be available in every market.

Larger storage capacities typically give Apple additional opportunities to increase the value of higher-end sales. If buyers select those options alongside the Pro and Pro Max models, the resulting mix could push average revenue per iPhone meaningfully higher even without a large increase in total unit sales.

Foldable iPhone Duo trails the Pro models

The reported foldable iPhone Duo attracted interest from 14% of survey respondents. Evercore expects that figure could increase as the device’s mid-October launch approaches, but it currently remains well below the combined interest in the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max.

The result gives an early indication that Apple’s first foldable iPhone may generate attention without immediately overtaking the company’s established premium lineup. Actual demand will depend on pricing, availability and the product’s final specifications, none of which are established by the survey figures.

Apple Watch and AirPods interest also rises

Interest in other Apple products increased as well. Thirty-eight percent of respondents said they planned to buy an Apple Watch, while 43% were considering AirPods. Both figures were higher than in Evercore’s previous survey.

Those results could support additional revenue from Apple’s broader device ecosystem, although, like the iPhone responses, they represent intentions rather than completed purchases. The survey covers US consumers and should not be treated as a measure of worldwide demand.
