Code buried in iOS 27 appears to reveal a significant expansion of Hermès MagSafe wallets, including new designs with Find My tracking and a custom attachment animation, based on findings shared by a well-known code sleuth.

What the iOS 27 code shows

The leaker who goes by "pdfu" posted the discoveries on X, describing a broad set of new Hermès card holders. These reportedly include bandana print designs in purple, brown, and orange, tartan stitched versions in purple and brown, plain leather options in navy and burgundy, and a crocodile embossed style, among others.

If the assets translate into shipping products, the range would mark a notable growth of Hermès' MagSafe wallet catalog. The luxury brand currently sells around half a dozen MagSafe card holders through its online store, including the silk Bandana Eperon d'Or, Jean patch, Pencils, and Chaine d'Ancre designs, as well as the Swift calfskin Lad print. Pricing runs from $510 for the silk styles up to $1,025 for the Lad version.

Find My support and a bespoke animation

According to pdfu, several of the new wallet styles carry Find My support. That feature lets owners locate a wallet in the Find My app and receive an alert if it has been left behind, a capability that has been present on some MagSafe wallets since Apple added item tracking to the accessory category.

The leaker also said the iOS 27 release candidate adds an animation made specifically for Hermès MagSafe wallets. This animation is said to be distinct from the standard MagSafe accessory animation that appears when other wallets are attached to an iPhone, suggesting Apple and Hermès are giving the premium accessories their own on-screen treatment.

How it compares to Apple's own wallet

The reported Hermès designs sit at the opposite end of the price spectrum from Apple's in-house option. Apple's FineWoven Wallet with MagSafe and Find My costs $59. The company recently rolled out new color choices, but aside from the earlier switch from leather to its FineWoven material, the wallet's design has stayed largely unchanged since 2020.
