Honor has added another entry to its growing Play11 series, launching the standard Honor Play11 in China. The budget-friendly handset leans heavily on battery endurance and durability, pairing a large 8,300 mAh cell with a rugged build and an entry-level Qualcomm processor.

Battery and charging

The headline feature is the phone's 8,300 mAh battery, an unusually large capacity for an affordable device. It supports 45W wired fast charging and can also act as a power source for other gadgets through 7.5W reverse wired charging. That combination positions the Play11 as a long-runner aimed at users who prioritize screen time over raw performance.

Specifications and display

The Play11 features a 6.872-inch LCD with a 720x1592 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1,020 nits. Inside, it runs on the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chip, paired with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage.

For photography, the phone carries a single 50MP rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture, alongside a 5MP front-facing shooter. A side-mounted fingerprint sensor is built into the power button. Software duties are handled by Android 16 with Honor's MagicOS 10 layered on top.

Durability and colors

Honor is emphasizing toughness with the Play11. The device holds IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance, and the company says it was tested to survive drops from up to 2.5 meters. Buyers can choose from four finishes: Desert Gold, Midnight Black, Meteor Silver and Mist Purple.

Pricing and availability

According to Honor's listing, the Play11 starts at CNY 1,499 (about $223) for the 6GB/128GB configuration. The 8GB/128GB version is priced at CNY 1,699 (roughly $253), while the top-tier 8GB/256GB model costs CNY 1,999 (around $297). Honor is currently offering a CNY 100 (about $14) discount across all variants.

The Play11 continues Honor's strategy of stuffing large batteries into value-oriented phones, a trend that has become increasingly common as manufacturers turn to denser cell technology. For buyers focused on endurance and a durable build rather than flagship-level performance, the Play11 offers a straightforward pitch at a low price. Honor has not detailed plans for markets beyond China.
