Apple’s new Siri AI is still unavailable in the European Union, even though the feature launched as part of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 outside the region. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, European users should not expect the feature to arrive “anytime soon,” with the eventual delay potentially lasting considerably longer than Apple’s previous regional rollout.

The situation affects one of the headline additions associated with Apple’s latest operating systems. While Apple has made Siri AI available in other markets, the European Union remains excluded, leaving customers in the region waiting for a feature promoted as a major part of the new software experience.

Why Siri AI is delayed in the EU

Gurman says Apple may be attempting to use the missing feature to increase public pressure on European regulators. Under that reported strategy, frustrated customers could complain about the EU’s regulatory approach, potentially encouraging changes that would make it easier for Apple to introduce Siri AI in the region.

That would make the delay more than a technical rollout issue. It would connect Siri AI’s availability to Apple’s broader dispute with EU regulation, although the report does not indicate that Apple has publicly confirmed this approach.

Apple Intelligence offers a possible timeline

For an indication of how long European users might wait, Gurman points to Apple Intelligence. Apple introduced that feature outside the EU in October 2024, but it did not reach the region until March 2025.

That rollout created a delay of roughly five months. Gurman considers a similar wait the “absolute best-case scenario” for Siri AI. In a less favorable outcome, the feature could remain unavailable in the EU for considerably longer.

What EU iPhone and iPad users should expect

There is currently no firm launch date for Siri AI in the European Union in the information available. Users should therefore treat any near-term availability expectations cautiously, particularly if Apple continues to link the feature’s rollout to regulatory requirements.

The uncertainty also means that iPhone and iPad owners in the EU may receive the latest operating systems without one of their most prominent new capabilities. Apple’s previous Apple Intelligence rollout suggests that a regional launch remains possible, but it does not guarantee that Siri AI will follow the same schedule.
