Apple is expected to unveil a new lineup of home products at its Welcome Home launch on Tuesday, October 13. The centerpiece will reportedly be HomeView, a Siri-powered home hub, joined by updated Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini models.

Apple is not expected to hold a traditional keynote. Instead, the company could publish a launch video and press materials, while a New York media event at 9 a.m. Eastern Time may give attendees hands-on time with the new devices.

HomeView is expected to lead Apple’s home push

HomeView is rumored to combine a six-inch touch display, a speaker, a camera, and a presence sensor in a single household device. It is expected to use an A18 chip and 8GB of RAM, with Siri AI serving as the main interface for questions, smart-home controls, and personalized information.

The device could display the time, weather, widgets, calendars, reminders, messages, emails, recipes, news, and photos. It is also expected to support music, podcasts, audiobooks, video playback, and FaceTime calls. Apple apps reportedly supported at launch include Safari, News, Music, Reminders, Calendar, Weather, Messages, FaceTime, Photos, and Mail, although HomeView is not expected to have its own App Store.

Two versions are reportedly planned: a wall-mounted model and a speaker-equipped version with a half-dome base and adjustable arm. A camera and Face ID-like recognition system could identify people nearby and show personalized content after authentication. The sensors may also work with HomeKit automations, such as turning on lights when someone enters a room.

HomeView is expected to use a widget-focused interface similar to iPhone StandBy mode. Multiple units could work together for multi-room audio and intercom features. The device will reportedly require a wired USB-C power connection, with no built-in battery, and may cost around $350.

Apple TV 4K may get a major internal upgrade

The next Apple TV 4K is not expected to receive a redesigned exterior. The familiar black box could instead gain an A19 chip, 8GB of RAM, and Apple’s N1 networking chip for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread support.

The upgrade would reportedly provide the processing power needed for Siri AI features and improve gaming performance through capabilities such as ray tracing and mesh shading. Apple may also introduce a Siri Remote with a built-in speaker to make it easier to locate. The new model is expected to cost at least $199, matching the current Apple TV 4K’s price after its June increase.

HomePod mini could add smarter Siri

The HomePod mini is also expected to retain its current design while receiving an S10 chip, second-generation Ultra Wideband, and the N1 networking chip. Because the speaker may not handle much AI processing locally, a nearby compatible device could provide the necessary processing.

Smarter Siri is expected to support follow-up questions, multi-step requests, and information from apps, with conversations potentially saved to a connected iPhone. New colors reportedly include white, blue, black, sage, and pink. Pricing is expected to remain at $129, the current price following a June increase.

LG smart-home accessories may arrive later

Apple and LG have reportedly developed an Apple Home Collection that includes a wired video doorbell, thermostat, smart lock, temperature sensor, and indoor, outdoor, and floodlight cameras. The accessories may be shown during the launch but are not expected to ship until later in the year.

Preorders could begin shortly after the announcement. The updated Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini are expected to launch October 30, while HomeView may ship in mid-November.
