Apple is reportedly planning a two-day product showcase in Los Angeles on October 27 and October 28, where it could introduce several new Mac and iPad models. The invitation-only sessions are expected to target content creators rather than follow the format of a traditional, livestreamed Apple event.

The plans were outlined by Mark Gurman. Apple is expected to announce the products on or around October 27, making the showcase a potential highlight of the company’s final major product launch period of 2026.

A different format from an Apple keynote

Rather than presenting a single video event, Apple is expected to offer hands-on “experiences” for creators. The company is also holding a similar creator-focused experience in New York on October 13.

That format would give invited attendees an opportunity to spend time with the products, but it would not provide the same kind of public livestream associated with Apple’s larger launch events. Apple has not been stated to have confirmed the Los Angeles plans or the products expected to appear.

New MacBook Pro models could lead the launch

The expected Mac announcements include 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with OLED displays. The larger redesign is reportedly set to bring several changes, including touchscreen support, M5 Pro and M5 Max processors, and a Dynamic Island.

The redesigned notebooks are also expected to be significantly lighter. Apple could additionally include one of its C1X or C2 modems to provide built-in cellular connectivity, although that possibility remains uncertain.

A separate 14-inch MacBook Pro is expected to use an M6 chip. The product list also includes a 24-inch iMac with an M6 processor and new color choices.

What to expect from the iPad mini 8

The iPad mini 8 is reportedly planned with an OLED display and an A20 Pro chip. Other expected changes include a front-facing camera designed for landscape use, a redesigned speaker system, and a water-resistant design.

These changes would update several aspects of the compact tablet, although the available information does not specify pricing, release dates, storage options, or the extent of the exterior redesign.

Apple’s other expected October products

Before the Los Angeles showcase, Apple is expected to introduce an all-new HomeView smart home hub, a second-generation HomePod mini, and an updated Apple TV 4K on October 13.

If the reported schedule holds, the Mac and iPad announcements would likely represent Apple’s final major product launch of 2026. Apple has not publicly confirmed the event timetable or the rumored product specifications.
