Apple has released the second developer betas of watchOS 27.2, tvOS 27.2 and visionOS 27.2, arriving one week after the first builds. The updates are being tested alongside the second betas of iOS 27.2, iPadOS 27.2 and macOS Golden Gate 27.2.
Registered developers can install the new builds through the Settings app on each compatible device. Apple has not yet detailed the changes included in the latest tvOS or visionOS releases, so the second betas may primarily focus on testing, fixes and general improvements.
watchOS 27.2 continues Health app testing
The most notable feature currently tied to this beta cycle is Apple’s redesigned Health app. With iOS 27.2 and watchOS 27.2, Apple is testing the updated app that it introduced during its September iPhone event.
The new Health app includes separate Insights and Longevity tabs. It also adds a readiness score that uses information from the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4. The score is intended to provide users with a summary based on information gathered by the newer Apple Watch models.
Because the feature is still being tested, its design and functionality could change before Apple releases the updates publicly. The source material does not specify when the final versions of watchOS 27.2 or the other operating system updates will become available.
tvOS 27.2 and visionOS 27.2 details remain limited
Apple has not announced specific additions for tvOS 27.2 or visionOS 27.2. The company is expected to introduce a new Apple TV 4K with Siri AI support sometime before the end of the year, but it has not confirmed whether that product or capability is connected to the current tvOS beta.
Similarly, there are no reported feature details for the visionOS release. Developers can use the second beta to check their apps and experiences against the latest software, while Apple continues its testing ahead of the eventual public launches.
How developers can install the betas
Developers enrolled in Apple’s testing program can access the updates directly from the Settings app on their Apple Watch, Apple TV or Vision Pro. Installing prerelease software can affect device stability and app compatibility, so developers generally use dedicated testing hardware rather than their primary devices.
The second-beta release gives developers another opportunity to identify problems in their apps as Apple advances the 27.2 software cycle. More details may emerge as testing continues and additional builds become available.
