Apple is reportedly preparing two groups of product announcements in October, beginning with new home devices on October 13 and followed by another launch window during the final week of the month. The company is also expected to release its iPhone Duo on October 23, making October one of its busiest product periods in recent years.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman previously reported that Apple plans to introduce a new home hub, a refreshed HomePod mini, and a new Apple TV 4K on Tuesday, October 13. Multiple sources familiar with Apple’s plans now indicate that additional products could arrive later in the month.
Macs are the leading candidates for the second launch
Apple has not identified which products it intends to announce during the final week of October. The most likely candidates are new Mac models, according to the available reporting.
One possibility is the long-rumored “MacBook Ultra,” which is expected to feature an OLED display and a thinner, lighter design. Apple could also introduce a base 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by an M6 chip, along with an iMac using the same chip.
These products remain possibilities rather than confirmed announcements. The timing of any Mac-related reveal could depend on whether Apple chooses to present the computers together or spread them across separate announcements.
Mac Studio and iPad mini could also arrive
Apple has already said that a high-end Mac Studio configuration with an M5 Ultra chip and 512GB of RAM will be released in “late October.” That makes the desktop a strong candidate for the second group of launches, although Apple has not provided a specific announcement date.
A redesigned iPad mini is another product expected this month. Reported upgrades include an OLED display, an A20 Pro chip, a landscape-oriented front camera, and a redesigned speaker system.
It remains unclear where the iPad mini fits into Apple’s October schedule. Apple could announce it alongside the home products on October 13, include it with the Macs in the final week, or reveal it separately at another point during the month.
A crowded October for Apple
The reported schedule would give Apple at least two major product windows in October, in addition to the iPhone Duo’s expected launch on Friday, October 23. The company has not confirmed the complete lineup or the dates for every product mentioned.
For customers considering a Mac, iPad mini, Apple TV, or HomePod mini, the timing could make October worth waiting through before making a purchase. More details should emerge as Apple approaches the first planned announcement date.
