Apple has released the third developer beta of iOS 27.2, giving registered developers another test version of the upcoming iPhone software update. The build arrives two weeks after the second beta and is accompanied by a new iPadOS 27.2 beta.
The release is notable because Apple is testing iOS 27.2 ahead of an iOS 27.1 beta. Apple plans to ship the iPhone Duo with iOS 27.1, while iOS 27.2 is expected to arrive after that device launches.
What is included in iOS 27.2
iOS 27.2 includes Apple’s redesigned Health app, which adds new Insight and Longevity tabs. The update also expands Siri AI support with additional languages.
Apple has not provided every detail about the third beta in the available information, but the release is part of a broader iOS 27.2 update that includes several new features. Developers will be able to test those changes before the software reaches the public.
How developers can install the beta
Registered developers can find the update through the iPhone’s software update settings. After opening Settings > General > Software Update, developers can opt in and select the iOS 27 developer beta.
A corresponding iPadOS 27.2 beta is also available for compatible iPad devices. As with other pre-release software, the developer build is intended for testing rather than general use.
When iOS 27.2 may arrive
The iPhone Duo is scheduled to launch on October 23. Apple previously said that the new Siri AI languages included in iOS 27.2 would become available in October, suggesting the update could be released shortly after the new iPhone reaches customers.
The unusual beta sequence may also allow Apple to keep some iPhone Duo features undisclosed for longer. The company has not stated when the public iOS 27.2 release will be available, so the timing remains subject to change as testing continues.
