Apple is preparing for a particularly busy October, with the foldable iPhone Duo, two iOS updates and a high-end Mac Studio configuration all scheduled or expected to arrive during the month. The company could also introduce new iPad, Mac and smart home products, although those additional announcements remain unconfirmed.

Here are the 12 developments currently linked to Apple’s October plans, separated between confirmed releases and products that are still the subject of reports.

Confirmed Apple releases in October

iPhone Duo

Apple’s foldable iPhone Duo is set to launch on Friday, October 23. Pre-orders are scheduled to open on Friday, October 16, at 5 a.m. Pacific Time. Apple has said the device will ship with iOS 27.1.

iOS 27.1

Because iOS 27.1 is being prepared specifically for the iPhone Duo, Apple is expected to release the update before the foldable phone reaches customers. The software timing should give the new device the version of iOS it requires at launch.

iOS 27.2

Apple has moved directly to an iOS 27.2 beta while preparing iOS 27.1 for the iPhone Duo. The later update is expected to add the five additional Siri AI languages Apple previously promised for October, making an October release likely.

Mac Studio with 512GB of RAM

Apple recently released Mac Studio models using the M5 Max and M5 Ultra chips. A higher-end configuration with an M5 Ultra processor and 512GB of RAM is scheduled to become available in late October.

Products that may be announced

Apple could also reveal an eighth-generation iPad mini with an OLED display, an A20 Pro chip, a landscape-oriented front camera, a redesigned speaker system and water resistance.

Rumored Mac updates include a 24-inch iMac with an M6 chip and new colors, along with a 14-inch MacBook Pro using the M6 chip. Separate reports point to redesigned 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models later in 2026, with OLED displays, touchscreens, a Dynamic Island and a thinner design. Those models are expected to use M5 Pro and M5 Max chips.

Apple TV, HomePod and smart home plans

A fourth-generation Apple TV 4K could use an A19 or A19 Pro chip and increase memory from 8GB to between 8GB and 12GB. The device may add support for Apple Intelligence and Siri AI, as well as an Apple-designed N1 chip for Wi-Fi 7. An updated Siri Remote is also rumored, although a leak suggests the Apple TV’s exterior will look like the current model.

A second-generation HomePod mini may bring a newer chip, improved sound, Siri AI support, the N1 chip, Wi-Fi 7 and a second-generation Ultra Wideband chip. New pink and green color options are possible, but major design changes are not expected.

Apple is also expected to be developing a dedicated home hub with a square 6-inch to 7-inch display, an A18 chip or newer, Apple Intelligence, FaceTime and a new operating system. Possible versions include a tabletop model with a speaker base and a wall-mounted model.

What homeOS could mean

The rumored hub may run a new platform called homeOS. Trademark filings have suggested that name, while the system itself is expected to include clock faces, widgets and other smart home features. Apple has not confirmed the platform or the unannounced devices.
