Apple has launched a limited-edition version of its AirPods 5 in India for the Diwali festive season. The edition features a rangoli-inspired engraving on the charging case, arranged around a heart-eyes emoji, while keeping the same price as the standard AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case in the country.
The special edition costs ₹17,900, which is approximately $187. Apple began accepting orders on October 11, 2026, and plans to sell the earbuds through November 11, subject to availability.
Diwali AirPods 5 design and availability
The case decoration draws from rangoli, a traditional Indian art form based on colorful decorative patterns. The design is the main distinction between the limited edition and the regular AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case.
Customers can order the special edition through Apple's online store and Apple Store app in India. It is also available at Apple's six retail locations in the country. Apple has limited purchases to two pairs per customer.
The special edition cannot be combined with other AirPods promotions. It is also excluded from Apple's Business, Education, and Corporate Employee Purchase Plan pricing. The company's purchase terms warn that repairs or replacements could involve standard AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case if the limited-edition version is not available.
Apple offers free rangoli workshops
Alongside the product launch, Apple is hosting free rangoli workshops developed with artist Arushi Kathuria. Participants will create digital rangoli designs using Procreate on an iPad and an Apple Pencil.
The sessions include a custom brush designed to reproduce the appearance of rangoli powder. Workshops are scheduled in India from October 14 through November 9, with additional sessions planned at selected locations in the United States, Canada, Malaysia, and Singapore.
