Apple's long-rumored smart home hub may be offered in four finishes when it is unveiled, according to information shared by leaker pdfu. The reported options are Silver, Space Gray, Starlight, and Rose Pink.
The device is reportedly scheduled to debut on Tuesday, October 13, although Apple has not announced the product in the supplied information. The color details add another possible clue about how Apple plans to position its first dedicated home hub.
Four possible finishes for Apple's home hub
Pdfu said the home device may be available in the four colors and shared images showing how its finish could affect the setup experience. In particular, the preview artwork for a feature called Photo Face reportedly changes to match the hardware color identified by the device.
Apple's software may also display an illustration of the hub's housing during setup once the required device assets become available. These details suggest that the finish could be represented throughout the user interface rather than being limited to the physical enclosure.
The color claims are also consistent with code findings previously uncovered by MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris in the macOS 26.7 Release Candidate. That code reportedly contained references to Silver, Space Gray, Starlight, and Rose Pink.
What the rumored device may look like
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman previously said the home hub would be available in Apple's standard gray aluminum finish. His description did not include the other three colors, leaving uncertainty over whether all four options will reach the market.
Gurman also reported that the device will have a display measuring roughly 6 inches square. Apple may offer two versions: a tabletop model and one designed for wall mounting.
The tabletop version is expected to use a polished metal arm that connects the screen to a round metal base. The base reportedly includes perforated speaker openings, with a design said to resemble the iMac G4 Apple introduced in 2002.
Why the colors matter
If the reported finishes are accurate, Apple would be giving buyers more choice than the single gray aluminum option previously described. Starlight and Rose Pink would also provide warmer alternatives for a device likely intended to remain visible in living spaces.
Apple's use of matching Photo Face artwork could make the color choice more noticeable during everyday setup and use. However, the finishes, launch timing, and final hardware design remain unconfirmed until Apple formally introduces the product.
