Apple has released new features for Apple Creator Studio and Final Cut Camera, adding more professional video controls alongside updates to Pages, Numbers, Keynote, Pixelmator Pro, Freeform, Final Cut Pro, Motion, and Compressor.
The biggest changes arrive in Final Cut Camera for iOS. On the iPhone 18 Pro, the app now supports variable aperture, allowing users to adjust the aperture and choose between aperture-priority and shutter-priority modes. The app also adds Cinematic mode effects for video.
Final Cut Camera gains more professional controls
Apple says Final Cut Camera has been redesigned to make professional settings easier to access. These include shutter angle, ISO, and white balance controls.
The updated app also includes customizable overlays with false-color and clipping indicators for exposure. Focus peaking now offers sensitivity control, while a tally light indicates when recording is active. A two-finger tap can clear the viewfinder, giving creators an unobstructed view of the shot.
Additional features include professional video scopes, clean SDI output, and genlock offset support. Together, the changes give iPhone users more control when using the device as part of a professional video workflow.
Cinematic video comes to Apple’s Mac apps
Final Cut Pro and Motion for Mac can now apply Cinematic mode effects to video recorded on the iPhone 18 Pro. Editors can adjust focus points and depth of field directly in the Final Cut Pro timeline.
Compressor can convert video with Cinematic mode effects back to the previous Cinematic mode format. Apple has also added new HEVC and MPEG-4 export presets to the app.
Updates for documents and creative projects
Pages, Numbers, and Keynote receive new templates and themes, as well as improved collaboration tools. Keynote adds intelligent slide generation, while Numbers gains trigonometry, statistics, and logic functions for more complex spreadsheet calculations.
Pages for Mac now includes Screen View, which optimizes documents for reading and writing. Pixelmator Pro for Mac and iPad adds new template collections designed for launching ideas, businesses, or products. The collections include a Podcasts category with cover artwork options. On iPad, Pixelmator Pro also gains the Mac app’s Select and Mask feature for more precise selections and mask adjustments.
Freeform expands across Apple platforms
Freeform now supports automatic Dark Mode for boards, folders for organizing content, and Writing Tools. Apple Intelligence can use Writing Tools to rewrite, proofread, and summarize handwritten notes.
In visionOS 27, Freeform on Vision Pro allows users to bring multiple items from a board into their surrounding space. Multiple people can also view 3D models together as a group.
Apple says all of the updates are available now. Apple Creator Studio costs $12.99 per month and includes access to creative apps such as Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, and Pixelmator Pro. It also adds premium features to free apps including Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.
