Apple says ADT will begin offering professional in-home installation for its new HomeView smart home hub and selected connected-home accessories in most areas of the United States this fall. The service will cover the wall-mounted HomeView, products in Apple’s new Home Collection from LG and Schneider Home, and other eligible smart home devices.

ADT technicians will handle installation through the company’s home installation service. Customers can find additional details and arrange service through ADT’s installation website.

What ADT will install

The installation program is focused on the wall-mounted version of Apple’s HomeView, which is designed to be attached to a wall rather than placed on a table. ADT will also install the related Apple Home Collection accessories made by LG and Schneider Home, along with other accessories that qualify for the service.

Apple has not said that installation will be available nationwide. Its website describes the service as being offered in “most areas” of the US, with availability beginning sometime this fall.

Apple HomeView wall-mounted model

The wall-mounted HomeView is available in space gray and silver. It includes the same 7-inch display as the tabletop model, while speaker openings are positioned along the bottom edge of the device.

Schneider Home offers three purpose-built mounts for attaching the device to a wall. Customers can choose to install the mount themselves or pay an additional charge for professional installation. The ADT service provides another option for buyers who would prefer to have the hardware installed in their homes.

HomeView pricing and availability

In the United States, both the tabletop and wall-mounted HomeView models cost $299. Apple has not indicated that the ADT installation service changes the device price, and professional installation carries an additional charge where applicable.

The arrangement gives HomeView buyers a way to combine Apple’s new smart home hardware with an established home installation provider. It may also make the wall-mounted model more practical for customers who want a permanent setup but do not want to handle the mounting process themselves.
