The X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max are the first phones to use MediaTek’s Dimensity 9600 Pro, while the standard X500 runs on the Dimensity 9600M.
The X500 Pro Max sits at the top of the range with a 200MP periscope telephoto camera, an 8,000mAh silicon-carbon battery and support for 8K video recording. vivo has not announced global launch plans, but open sales in China are scheduled to start on September 24.
Camera hardware leads the X500 range
The X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max share a 50MP main camera with a custom Sony LYTIA L910 sensor. The 24mm-equivalent camera uses a 1/1.28-inch sensor, a fixed f/1.57 aperture and Zeiss T* coating. vivo rates it for up to 17 stops of dynamic range.
The Pro Max adds three-degree optical image stabilization described as “gimbal-grade.” The X500 Pro’s main camera offers 1.5 degrees of stabilization.
For zoom photography, the Pro Max uses an 85mm-equivalent 200MP periscope camera with Samsung’s 1/1.4-inch ISOCELL HP0 sensor. The X500 Pro instead has an 85mm-equivalent 64MP telephoto camera using a custom vivo and Sony LYTIA 610 sensor. Both Pro models include a 15mm-equivalent 50MP ultrawide camera and support the optional 400mm Zeiss Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra.
The standard X500 has a 50MP 23mm-equivalent main camera with a LYTIA 828 sensor, a 64MP 72mm-equivalent telephoto camera and a 50MP ISOCELL JN1 ultrawide camera.
144Hz displays and large batteries
Both Pro models use BOE Q11 LTPO AMOLED displays with 2K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate and up to 4,500 nits of peak brightness. The X500 Pro has a 6.36-inch panel, while the Pro Max increases the size to 6.85 inches.
The standard X500 sits between them with a 6.59-inch AMOLED display offering 2K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Its peak brightness is rated at 4,000 nits.
Battery capacities vary across the lineup. The X500 Pro Max has an 8,000mAh silicon-carbon cell, followed by the X500’s 7,500mAh battery and the X500 Pro’s 6,510mAh cell. All three support 90W wired charging and 40W wireless charging, along with IP68 and IP69 protection against dust and water.
