vivo is launching the X Fold6 in India with what it describes as the country’s largest battery in a foldable phone. The device combines a 6,900mAh battery with an 8.02-inch inner display, Origin OS 7 productivity features and a Dimensity 9500 Super Edition chipset.

The X Fold6 will be available in India from October 13 through vivo’s website and partner retailers. It comes with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, priced at ₹219,999.

6,900mAh battery and fast charging

The battery uses vivo’s fifth-generation Silicon Anode Technology, which the company says increases energy density and improves cycle life. Its Semi-Solid Electrolyte 2.0 design is also rated to operate at temperatures as low as -20°C and -30°C.

Charging support includes 80W wired FlashCharge and 40W Wireless FlashCharge. A Predictive Charging Time feature displays an estimate for reaching 80% charge on the lock screen, while the Battery settings page also shows an estimated time for a full charge.

Despite the battery capacity, the phone measures 9.4mm when folded and weighs 228g, according to vivo. It is offered in Nebula Teal and Prism Black finishes.

Large display built for multitasking

The inner screen is an 8.02-inch LTPO 8T panel with a 2,504 × 2,312 resolution and a variable refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz. vivo lists peak local brightness of up to 5,000 nits and a minimum brightness of 1 nit.

Origin Workbench can display up to five applications at once. Four apps can occupy split-screen sections, while a fifth can run in a floating window. The software also supports drag-and-drop actions for extracting text, translating content and saving contact details.

Other tools include Snap and Go, which can turn information such as a scanned plane ticket into a calendar entry, and Snap Note, which converts photos of whiteboards, handwritten notes, slides or mind maps into editable notes. Origin OS 7 also includes AI Recorder for transcripts and summaries, AI Search across Files and Notes, and Smart Call Assistant features such as call screening and summaries.

Cross-platform and desktop features

vivo says the X Fold6 can connect with MacBooks, iPads, AirPods and Apple Watches, as well as Windows PCs and Android devices. Its Desktop Mode can show overlapping, resizable app windows on an external monitor or television through USB-C or a wireless connection.

The phone can open files from remote computers, while the Office Kit’s Camera Sharing feature lets it work as a webcam over USB. These features are designed to make the foldable useful across home, office and mixed-device workflows.

Dimensity chip and triple-camera system

The phone uses the Dimensity 9500 Super Edition, a joint development between MediaTek and vivo. vivo says its Ultra-Efficient Concurrent Engine supports GPU offloading and direct display rendering, while multitasking efficiency improves by more than 10% compared with the previous-generation Origin Workbench.

For photography, the X Fold6 has a 200MP main camera with a 1/1.4-inch HPB sensor, a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto camera using Sony’s LYT-602 sensor, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. The main camera supports portrait focal lengths from 23mm to 100mm, while the system can record 4K Dolby Video at 60 frames per second.
