The vivo V80 has arrived for review in a distinctive color that sits somewhere between blue and green. The global model combines a polished design with a larger battery, but much of its internal hardware remains familiar from the previous vivo V70.

The review package includes a transparent soft case, a 90W charger and a USB-A to USB-C cable. The phone itself has a matte metal frame and semi-transparent glass on the rear, giving it a premium appearance and a smooth finish.

vivo V80 design and in-box accessories

The V80’s color is difficult to classify precisely, shifting between a greenish blue and a bluish green depending on how it is viewed. Whatever the description, it gives the phone a more distinctive look than a conventional finish.

Its design sits between the earlier V70 and recent iPhone Pro models. The construction follows the V70’s approach, while the broad camera island creates a visual resemblance to Apple’s professional iPhone range. The matte surface and subtle paintwork help the phone feel more premium, and the Zeiss branding on the cameras reinforces its photography-focused positioning.

The included accessories make the global package ready for immediate use. Alongside the phone, buyers receive a clear protective case, a 90W charging adapter and a USB-A to USB-C cable.

V80 specifications compared with the V70

The biggest changes are concentrated in the display and battery. The V80 raises the screen refresh rate to 144Hz, compared with 120Hz on the V70. That should allow for smoother motion in supported content and interfaces, although the practical benefit will be assessed during testing.

The battery receives a more substantial upgrade. The V80 uses a 7,200mAh silicon-carbon battery, up from the V70’s 6,500mAh unit. That capacity increase is the most meaningful hardware change between the two phones and could have a direct effect on everyday endurance.

At the same time, the V80 keeps the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor used by the V70. The camera system is also essentially unchanged from the previous model. As a result, the phone’s appeal will depend heavily on whether the larger battery, faster display and updated overall design provide enough value beyond the familiar core hardware.

Battery life will be a key test

The V80’s endurance is still being evaluated. Its larger silicon-carbon battery gives it a clear capacity advantage on paper, but real-world results will depend on factors such as display refresh rate, network use and software behavior.

The full review will determine whether the battery upgrade translates into noticeably longer use. Until then, the vivo V80 presents a carefully finished design and a meaningful capacity increase, alongside cameras and performance hardware that remain close to the V70.
