vivo appears to be readying the V80, the direct successor to its popular V70, with a leak pointing to a bigger battery, expanded AI camera tricks and an early-October launch in India. The report follows the recent release of the V80 Lite and lines up with vivo's usual cadence for the mid-range V series.

When will the vivo V80 launch?

According to a report from 91mobiles, the V80 is expected to arrive in India during the first week of October. That timing would slot in neatly behind the V80 Lite, which launched a few weeks ago, and continue the line first popularized by the V70.

The phone is said to debut on Android 17 with vivo's OriginOS 7 layered on top. That software is scheduled to be unveiled on September 16, which suggests the V80 could be among the first devices to ship with the new interface.

A larger battery and new camera features

The headline hardware change is the battery. The V80 is tipped to carry a 7,200 mAh cell, a meaningful step up from the 6,500 mAh unit in the V70. If accurate, that would give the phone one of the more generous batteries in its class and could translate into notably longer runtime between charges.

On the imaging side, the leak mentions an AI Creative Camera mode said to include more than 30 AI effects. The report compares this to the 25 styles that shipped with vivo's X300 FE, hinting at an even broader set of creative options on the V80.

A Live Sticker Collage feature is also expected. It would reportedly let users build collages using Live Photos and stickers, adding to the phone's focus on casual, social-friendly photography that has long been a selling point for the V series.
