vivo has launched the V80 in India, bringing a 7,200mAh battery, a 6.59-inch AMOLED display and a Zeiss-backed triple-camera system to its latest V-series smartphone. The handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset and is among the first phones to ship with Android 17-based OriginOS 7.
The V80 combines a relatively compact display with a large battery and a slim body. vivo says the phone measures 7.79mm thick and weighs 210g, with an aluminum frame and glass back. It is available in Horizon Blue, Stellar Black and Sunrise Anthem color options in India.
144Hz AMOLED display and Snapdragon 7 Gen 4
The vivo V80 uses a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel with Full-HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. The display can reach a claimed peak brightness of 5,000 nits, which should help with visibility in bright conditions.
At the center of the phone is the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset. The device also includes an in-display fingerprint scanner, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, NFC and eSIM support. Its IP69 rating provides dust and water resistance.
Zeiss triple-camera system
Photography is handled by a triple-camera setup developed with Zeiss. The main camera uses a 50MP Sony LYT 700V sensor with optical image stabilisation and autofocus. It can record 4K cinematic video as well as 4K video at 60 frames per second.
A second 50MP Sony IMX882 camera provides telephoto capability, with optical image stabilisation and 3x optical zoom. The system is completed by an 8MP ultrawide camera. On the front, the V80 has a 50MP wide-angle selfie camera with autofocus.
7,200mAh battery with 90W charging
The phone’s 7,200mAh battery is one of its key hardware features. It supports 90W wired charging, giving the V80 a combination of high battery capacity and fast charging support.
Software is another notable part of the launch. The vivo V80 runs Android 17-based OriginOS 7 from the factory, rather than requiring an operating system update after purchase. vivo has not provided pricing details in the supplied launch information.
With its high-capacity battery, fast charging, 144Hz display and optical-zoom camera, the V80 targets buyers looking for a feature-rich midrange smartphone. Its India availability makes the device one of vivo’s latest options in the country’s competitive V-series lineup.
