New leaked images provide a closer look at Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Buds On, showing earbuds that attach to the outer ear with a clip rather than sitting inside the ear canal. The design would make them Samsung’s first clip-on-style earbuds, although the company has not announced a launch date.

The images and additional details were published by Android Headlines. Samsung has not confirmed the product, so its name, features and release timing remain subject to change.

A clip-on alternative to in-ear earbuds

Unlike conventional Galaxy Buds, the Galaxy Buds On reportedly will not rely on an in-ear fit to stay in place. Their clip-based construction is designed to hold each bud against the ear, which could make them more comfortable for people who find traditional earbuds tiring during long listening sessions.

The reported design also places the Buds On in the open-ear category. Rather than sealing the ear canal, the earbuds are expected to use air conduction to direct sound toward the eardrum along the edges of the ear canal. The precise implementation is not yet clear, but the approach would allow users to remain more aware of surrounding sounds.

Reported audio and gesture features

The open construction comes with an important limitation: the Galaxy Buds On are not expected to offer Active Noise Cancellation. The lack of a seal around the ear makes the kind of noise isolation associated with conventional ANC difficult to achieve.

Samsung is reportedly preparing an automatic volume feature that raises the listening level in noisy environments. That could help compensate for background sound, although it would not provide the same isolation as noise-cancelling earbuds.

The earbuds may also support head gestures similar to those reported for the Galaxy Buds4. Users could reportedly nod to accept a call or confirm a positive action, and shake their head to reject a call or indicate a negative response.

Galaxy Buds On release timing remains unknown

The Galaxy Buds On are also expected to work with AI assistants, including Samsung’s Bixby and Google’s Gemini. The available information does not specify which assistant features will be supported or whether either service will receive functions exclusive to the new earbuds.

Samsung has not introduced the Buds On alongside its recently mentioned product launches. They did not appear with the new Galaxy watches, the Galaxy S26 FE or the Galaxy Tab S12 series, despite earlier speculation that one of those events could provide a launch window.

For now, the leaked images point to a different kind of Galaxy Buds product focused on comfort, environmental awareness and an open listening experience. Samsung’s eventual announcement will need to clarify the final name, specifications, pricing and availability.
