Samsung's next unconventional earbuds have surfaced again, this time in a set of official-looking renders that offer the clearest look yet at what the company is expected to call the Galaxy Buds On. The images and accompanying details come from SammyGuru, which detailed the open-ear clip-on design and a range of supported features.

An open-ear clip-on design

Unlike Samsung's in-ear Galaxy Buds line, the Galaxy Buds On use a two-part clip design that hooks onto the ear rather than sitting inside the canal. One side houses the speaker while the other rests behind the ear, with the two halves joined by a silicone loop. The renders also show pogo-pin connectors, which charge the buds when they are docked in their case.

The earbuds are shown in black, but SammyGuru says a white version is also confirmed. Open-ear designs like this appeal to users who want to stay aware of their surroundings while listening, making them popular for running, cycling and all-day wear.

Features and controls

According to the report, the Galaxy Buds On will include automatic volume control that adjusts output based on ambient noise, along with a separate volume boost option. Samsung is also said to be adding gesture controls, including a head nod for certain actions.

Quick actions reportedly extend to starting a voice recording and launching Galaxy AI, tying the earbuds into Samsung's broader software ecosystem. The details appear to have been pulled from the Galaxy Wearable app, which typically surfaces device information ahead of an official release.

When could the Galaxy Buds On launch?

The timing remains uncertain. Earlier rumors suggested the buds would arrive alongside the Galaxy S26 FE, but that did not happen. The current expectation is a launch in the fourth quarter of 2026, though Samsung has not confirmed the product or any release window.

If accurate, the Galaxy Buds On would give Samsung an entry in the growing open-ear audio category, competing with clip-style earbuds from Bose, Huawei and others. For now, the details should be treated as leaks until Samsung makes an official announcement.
