Samsung Display is reportedly preparing to begin mass production of AMOLED panels for Samsung’s Galaxy S27 series this month, according to a report from ZDNet Korea. The production schedule would put the displays on track for assembly ahead of the lineup’s expected launch in early 2027.

The report follows separate claims that Samsung has started mass-producing its Exynos 2700 chipset, which is expected to power at least some Galaxy S27 models. Neither development means the phones will launch this year; instead, the components would be produced in advance of the next flagship cycle.

Four Galaxy S27 models are reportedly planned

Samsung’s next flagship family is expected to include four devices rather than three. The rumored lineup consists of the 6.27-inch Galaxy S27, the 6.66-inch Galaxy S27+, the 6.47-inch Galaxy S27 Pro and the 6.89-inch Galaxy S27 Ultra.

The addition of the Pro model is reportedly driving Samsung Display’s higher panel target. The display supplier is said to be planning annual shipments of between 47 million and 48 million panels for the Galaxy S27 family, approximately 10% more than its target for the Galaxy S26 series. The previous generation’s target was described as being in the low 40 million range.

Galaxy S27 Pro panel shipments may start small

According to the report, Samsung wants Samsung Display to ship between 2 million and 3 million Galaxy S27 Pro panels this year, followed by 4 million to 5 million units next year. Those figures appear to refer to component preparation rather than completed phone shipments.

Producing panels before the devices are assembled is consistent with a launch expected in early 2027. The reported schedule also gives Samsung time to build inventory for four models and prepare for the additional demand that the Pro version could generate.

Privacy Display reportedly expands to two models

The Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra are also expected to feature Samsung’s Privacy Display technology. The feature was reportedly introduced with the Galaxy S26 Ultra and is designed to limit what people viewing the phone from an angle can see.

However, the feature remains part of an unconfirmed report. Samsung has not officially announced the Galaxy S27 range, its display specifications or a launch date. Panel production plans can indicate Samsung’s preparation for a product, but they do not establish final specifications or guarantee that every rumored model will reach the market.
