Samsung has started rolling out the stable One UI 9 update to the Galaxy S25 series and the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 in South Korea. The software is based on Android 17 and follows the initial release for Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series.
Owners of the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra in Korea are receiving update notifications, including some users who did not participate in the beta program. Samsung’s schedule suggests that the rollout will expand to additional regions after the Korean release.
Galaxy S25 One UI 9 update details
According to rollout tracking by Tarun Vats, the stable Galaxy S25 update carries build number S938NKSUCDZIF. The download is approximately 3.9GB, so users should connect to Wi-Fi and ensure their phones have sufficient free storage before starting the installation.
The Korean release follows Samsung’s stated timetable. A Samsung Thailand announcement listed September 28 as the target date for One UI 9 on the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy Z7 series. The company previously indicated that the Galaxy S23 FE and other S23 models would receive the update by October, but that wording has since changed to “later this year.”
Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 receive stable software
Owners of the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 who installed the One UI 9 beta are now seeing the stable version. The update is expected to reach users on the public software release as Samsung expands the rollout, although availability for the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE remains unclear.
The reported build for the Z7 foldable lineup is F966NKSUCCZIH. Beta testers are downloading roughly 500MB because they are moving from an earlier One UI 9 test build. Users upgrading from One UI 8.5 should receive a larger package.
When will One UI 9 reach other regions?
Samsung began the Galaxy S26 One UI 9 rollout in South Korea on September 16 before bringing it to the United States on September 23. If Samsung follows a similar pattern for the 2025 flagships, US owners could begin receiving notifications around the following week, although the timing may vary by carrier and region.
As with other major Samsung software releases, the update may arrive in stages rather than reaching every eligible phone at once. Users can check manually by opening the Settings app, selecting Software update, and choosing Download and install.
