Redmi is bringing the 17C 5G to India on October 7, expanding availability of the 5G smartphone after its initial launch in some markets in August. The phone starts at INR 20,999 for the version with 4GB of RAM, while a 6GB model costs INR 22,999. Both configurations include 128GB of storage.

Redmi India announced the Indian launch and listed the phone in three colors: Coffee Brew, Purple Dawn and Dark Night. The device combines a large high-refresh-rate display with a 6,000mAh battery, positioning it as an option for buyers who prioritise screen size and battery capacity.

Redmi 17C 5G price and availability in India

The Redmi 17C 5G will be available in India from October 7. Its pricing is split across two memory configurations:

  • 4GB RAM with 128GB storage: INR 20,999
  • 6GB RAM with 128GB storage: INR 22,999

Storage remains the same on both versions, so the higher-priced model is differentiated by its additional RAM. Redmi has not provided further availability details in the supplied announcement.

Display and camera specifications

The phone features a 6.9-inch LCD display with a 720x1600 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The higher refresh rate is designed to make supported scrolling and animations appear smoother than on a standard 60Hz panel.

For photography, the Redmi 17C 5G has a 50MP main camera on the rear and an 8MP camera for selfies. The available specifications do not identify any additional rear cameras or provide further details about the camera system.

Dimensity 6300 chip and battery

MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 powers the handset and provides its 5G-capable platform. The phone includes a 6,000mAh battery with support for 33W charging, giving it a substantial battery capacity while retaining a wired charging option.

Other hardware features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner built into the power button and a 3.5mm headphone jack. These additions offer conventional wired audio support and a dedicated biometric unlock location alongside the phone’s 5G connectivity.

Redmi 17C 5G colours

Indian buyers will be able to choose between Coffee Brew, Purple Dawn and Dark Night. With two RAM options, a 120Hz LCD screen and a large battery, the Redmi 17C 5G’s Indian launch adds another choice to Redmi’s 5G smartphone lineup.
