Xiaomi will launch the Redmi 17C 5G in India on October 1, bringing its latest budget-focused 5G smartphone to the market. The company has confirmed the Indian model’s main specifications and color choices through its official listing.

The Indian version appears to match the Redmi 17C 5G that Xiaomi unveiled in Singapore last month. That suggests buyers in India can expect the same combination of a large battery, high-refresh-rate display and MediaTek chipset.

Redmi 17C 5G specifications

The Redmi 17C 5G will have a 6.9-inch LCD display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The adaptive system is designed to vary the refresh rate based on the content being shown, while the 120Hz maximum can provide smoother scrolling and motion than a conventional 60Hz panel.

Powering the phone is MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 chipset. Xiaomi has not provided additional performance details in the official listing, but the confirmed processor establishes the platform used by the Indian variant.

The smartphone will include a 6,000mAh battery and support 33W fast charging. That battery capacity is one of the phone’s main hardware highlights, while the charging specification defines how quickly it can replenish its power.

Camera and color options

For photography, the Redmi 17C 5G will use a 50MP rear camera. An 8MP front-facing camera will handle selfies and video calls. Xiaomi’s announcement confirms the camera resolutions but does not provide further details about the sensors or additional camera modes.

Indian customers will be able to choose from three finishes: Coffee Brown, Dark Night and Purple Dawn. The color lineup gives the phone a mix of darker and more distinctive options at launch.

India launch date and availability

Xiaomi has set the Redmi 17C 5G India launch for October 1. The company has confirmed the date and specifications, but the available information does not include the phone’s Indian price, storage configurations or sale date.

Those details will determine how the Redmi 17C 5G competes in India’s affordable 5G smartphone segment. For now, its confirmed specifications position it around a large display, a high-capacity battery and 5G-capable Dimensity 6300 hardware.
