nubia has confirmed that the RedMagic 12 Pro+ will launch in October, giving the company’s gaming phone lineup a new flagship shortly after the RedMagic 11 Pro+ arrived last October. The announcement also previews a substantial exterior redesign, with a slimmer and lighter body, rounded corners and revised shoulder-trigger buttons.

The company revealed the launch timing and design changes in posts on Weibo. Side-by-side images compare the upcoming RedMagic 12 Pro+ with its predecessor, highlighting how nubia has altered the phone’s shape while keeping its gaming-focused controls.

RedMagic 12 Pro+ design changes

According to nubia, the RedMagic 12 Pro+ is designed to feel better in the hand than the previous model. The phone will be lighter and slimmer than the RedMagic 11 Pro+, while its corners will have a more rounded profile instead of the boxier styling used by the older device.

That change gives the new model a visibly different outline in nubia’s comparison images. The company has positioned the updated shape as one of the phone’s key improvements, although it has not yet shared measurements or weight figures.

New shoulder triggers and display bezels

The RedMagic 12 Pro+ will also use redesigned shoulder-trigger buttons. nubia’s preview shows a more rounded shape for these controls, which are intended for gaming use. The company has not provided additional information about their specifications or operation.

Another confirmed design detail is the display bezel size. nubia says the gaming flagship will have slim, uniform bezels measuring 0.96mm. The uniform treatment is intended to give all four sides of the screen a consistent appearance, based on the company’s design preview.

What nubia has not revealed

nubia has confirmed the October launch and several physical changes, but it has not yet announced the RedMagic 12 Pro+’s full specifications, pricing or availability details. The company says more information is expected in the coming days.

For now, the announced changes focus on the phone’s physical design rather than its internal hardware. The RedMagic 12 Pro+ will follow the RedMagic 11 Pro+ as nubia’s next gaming flagship, with the company seeking to make the newer model more comfortable to hold while retaining features such as dedicated shoulder controls.
