RedMagic will officially launch the RedMagic 12 Pro+ on October 15. The company says its next flagship gaming phone will be introduced at an event in China starting at 2:30 p.m. local time.
The announcement confirms the timing after RedMagic previously said the phone would arrive in October and offered an early look at its design. The company is positioning the 12 Pro+ as a major upgrade for mobile gaming, with changes to both its internal performance and physical design.
RedMagic 12 Pro+ performance and gaming features
The RedMagic 12 Pro+ will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor. RedMagic says it has applied what it calls “first-class tuning” to the phone, with the goal of delivering a significantly improved gaming experience.
According to the company, that tuning will improve visuals while also raising the phone’s overall performance. RedMagic has not provided further technical details about the processor configuration or explained how the visual improvements will be implemented.
For gamers, the phone will also retain dedicated shoulder triggers. RedMagic says those controls will use a more rounded design on the upcoming model, matching the device’s broader focus on improved comfort.
Thinner, lighter design with narrow bezels
RedMagic says the 12 Pro+ will be its most comfortable phone to hold. The company attributes that claim to several design changes, including a body that is both thinner and lighter than its predecessor.
The phone will also feature rounded corners, while its shoulder triggers will receive similarly rounded treatment. These changes are intended to make the device easier to handle, particularly during extended gaming sessions, although RedMagic has not shared the phone’s exact dimensions or weight.
Another headline design detail is the display framing. RedMagic says the 12 Pro+ will have bezels measuring less than 1mm on all four sides. That would give the screen a more edge-to-edge appearance, but the company has not yet disclosed the display’s size or refresh rate.
What to expect at the October 15 event
The October 15 event should provide the remaining details about the RedMagic 12 Pro+, including its full specifications, pricing and availability. For now, RedMagic has confirmed the launch date, chipset, gaming-focused performance improvements and several physical design changes.
The phone’s launch will be watched closely by buyers seeking a high-performance gaming handset, particularly those interested in dedicated controls and a slimmer design. RedMagic’s announcement does not yet confirm whether the device will launch outside China or when international availability might begin.
