Realme has pulled back the curtain on its Realme 16 Pro Harry Potter Edition, confirming both the phone's themed design and its launch date. The company says the special edition will go on sale in India on September 21, marking Realme's second smartphone collaboration with Warner Bros.
A Hogwarts-inspired design
According to Realme's official press release, the Harry Potter Edition swaps standard styling for a brown leather-texture rear panel featuring an Argyle pattern, with the Hogwarts Crest positioned in the center. The rear camera module has been reworked into a design meant to evoke Hedwig, Harry Potter's snowy owl.
The theming extends to the metallic frame, which carries a "Welcome to Hogwarts" slogan. Beyond the visual changes, the device is otherwise identical in specifications to the standard Realme 16 Pro, so buyers are paying for the fan-oriented aesthetics rather than upgraded internals.
A limited-edition trunk gift box
Alongside the handset, Realme will offer a Hogwarts-themed limited edition gifting box built as a 1:1 replica of Harry Potter's trunk. The company says this bundle will be capped at 5,000 units worldwide, making it a collector's item for fans of the franchise.
The box is packed with themed extras, including:
- A Hogwarts acceptance letter
- A train ticket
- Bookmarks based on the Hogwarts Crests
- Character postcards
- A phone case with an embossed Hogwarts logo
- A phone pin
Why it matters
Franchise-branded phones have become a reliable way for manufacturers to stand out in a crowded market, and Realme's tie-up with one of the world's most recognizable properties is clearly aimed at collectors and Harry Potter fans rather than spec-chasers. With the gift box limited to just 5,000 units globally, the edition is positioned as much as a piece of memorabilia as a smartphone.
Buyers who want the same hardware without the theming can still opt for the standard Realme 16 Pro, which is already available in configurations including 256GB with 8GB of RAM and 512GB with 8GB of RAM. Full pricing and availability details for the Harry Potter Edition are expected to be confirmed at the September 21 India debut.
