POCO is expanding its performance-focused smartphone lineup with the X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max, two models aimed at users who prioritise gaming, battery life and durability. The X8 Pro Max focuses on maximum performance and endurance, while the standard X8 Pro offers a smaller design without abandoning gaming capabilities.

According to POCO, both phones are built to handle demanding daily use, including gaming, multitasking and media consumption. The company is also highlighting long-term software support and protection against everyday damage as part of the series’ appeal.

POCO X8 Pro Max focuses on sustained performance

The POCO X8 Pro Max is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500s chipset and reaches more than 3 million points in AnTuTu, based on POCO’s stated figures. It uses the company’s IceLoop cooling system and supports 120 frames-per-second gaming with WildBoost optimisation.

The phone’s endurance comes from a 9,000mAh silicon-carbon battery. POCO says it can potentially deliver more than three days of battery life under moderate use. The device also supports 100W fast charging and 27W wired reverse charging, allowing it to charge other compatible devices.

A metal middle frame is included on the X8 Pro Max, alongside IP69K protection and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. These features are intended to give the larger model additional resistance to water, dust and everyday wear.

X8 Pro brings high performance to a smaller design

The standard POCO X8 Pro uses the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra and records more than 2.3 million points in AnTuTu, according to the company. It features a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display and supports 120fps gaming through WildBoost optimisation.

POCO describes the X8 Pro as a compact performance phone for people who want a more manageable device. Its premium metal frame and customisable RGB lighting give it a different design direction from the larger X8 Pro Max.

The camera setup includes a 50MP Sony IMX882 main camera with optical image stabilisation, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 20MP front-facing camera. Both phones also offer IP69K protection, Gorilla Glass 7i, four generations of Android updates and six years of security updates.

POCO X8 Pro series pricing in India

During the Big Billion Days sale, POCO says the X8 Pro Max will fall from ₹48,999 to an effective price of ₹42,999. The X8 Pro will be reduced from ₹39,999 to an effective ₹33,999.

The two models target different priorities rather than offering identical designs at different sizes. The X8 Pro Max is aimed at buyers seeking the largest battery and highest stated performance, while the X8 Pro is intended for users who want gaming-focused hardware in a more compact body.
