OnePlus has officially revealed the design, color options and memory configurations for the OnePlus 16 ahead of its launch. The company has also opened pre-reservations for the upcoming flagship in China, although it has not yet announced a release date.

The OnePlus 16 closely resembles the OnePlus 15, but introduces a new selection of finishes. OnePlus has confirmed three colors: Dark Forest, Mars Masterpiece and Tomorrow Starlight.

OnePlus 16 colors and design

Dark Forest uses a black finish, while Mars Masterpiece is described as a light orange option. Tomorrow Starlight has a grey appearance. The orange and Starlight models will feature a distinctive pattern on the rear panel, giving them a more decorative look than the standard black version.

The design reveal suggests that OnePlus is keeping the overall visual direction of its previous flagship rather than making a major change to the phone’s exterior. The company has not yet provided a complete specifications sheet for the device.

RAM and storage configurations

Chinese customers will be able to pre-reserve the OnePlus 16 through OnePlus’ official online store. The phone will be offered in four memory and storage combinations:

  • 12GB RAM with 256GB storage
  • 12GB RAM with 512GB storage
  • 16GB RAM with 512GB storage
  • 16GB RAM with 1TB storage

The range gives buyers a choice between a lower-capacity entry configuration and a 1TB model aimed at users who keep large photo, video and app libraries on their phones. Pricing and availability outside China have not been disclosed.

165Hz display support confirmed

OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 16 will support a system-wide 165Hz refresh rate. A higher refresh rate can make compatible animations, scrolling and supported games appear smoother, although the practical benefit may vary depending on software and battery settings.

Other major specifications remain unconfirmed. The phone is rumored to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset, along with a 200MP primary rear camera, a 9,000mAh battery and a 6.78-inch AMOLED display. These details should be treated as reports rather than official specifications until OnePlus provides further information.

Launch timing remains unknown

OnePlus has not announced when the OnePlus 16 will launch or whether all of the Chinese configurations and colors will reach international markets. For now, the company’s pre-reservation listing confirms the phone’s design direction, color lineup, storage choices and 165Hz display capability, while leaving its price and remaining hardware details for a later announcement.
