Nothing has unveiled the Headphone (1) Pro, its new flagship over-ear headphone model. The successor features a triple-driver audio system, upgraded active noise cancellation using 10 microphones, and a more premium construction built with glass, titanium, and aluminum.
The headphones retain the overall appearance of the original Headphone (1), but add several changes intended to improve sound quality, comfort, durability, and connectivity.
Triple-driver audio and spatial sound
The Headphone (1) Pro uses three drivers in each earcup. A 40mm dynamic driver handles bass, while a second precision dynamic driver is paired with an xMEMS driver featuring a silicone diaphragm for treble.
Nothing also includes Dynamic Spatial Audio with head tracking. Listeners can choose from Standard, Live House, Club, and Concert Hall modes. A further mode is based on Studio B by Metropolis Studios. The headphones also carry Hi-Res Audio certification.
Supported audio codecs include AAC, SBC, LDAC, and LC3. A dedicated Switch button lets users toggle the Flat EQ setting, while tactile switches provide physical controls.
10 microphones improve active noise cancellation
Active noise cancellation on the Headphone (1) Pro uses a 10-microphone setup. Nothing claims the system can provide up to 46 decibels of noise reduction.
The headphones include a low-latency mode and auto-wear detection. Dual connectivity allows them to remain connected to two devices, while Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair simplify pairing with compatible devices. Nothing also supports instant setup on Apple devices.
Glass, titanium, and comfort changes
The exterior enclosure uses scratch-resistant glass, and the structure combines lightweight titanium with an aluminum frame. The headband is 10% wider than the one on the Headphone (1), while the padding is thicker.
Nothing says the earcups are more flexible and the cushions are softer than before. The Headphone (1) Pro has an IP52 rating and weighs 327 grams. Each pair comes with a padded carrying case.
Battery life and available colors
A 1,060mAh battery is rated for up to 30 hours of use with ANC enabled. With active noise cancellation turned off, Nothing claims up to 68 hours of battery life. USB-C fast charging is also supported.
The Nothing Headphone (1) Pro is available in Black and White finishes. Its combination of a three-driver design, spatial audio, and extended battery life positions it as a higher-end alternative to the company’s original over-ear headphones.
