Motorola is preparing a new Moto G47 family member with a much larger battery than the standard model. European Energy Label documentation lists the upcoming Moto G47 Power with a 6,790mAh battery, while a previous retailer listing points to 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

The battery is significantly larger than the 5,200mAh unit inside the Moto G47, which launched in April. Motorola will most likely market the rated capacity as 6,900mAh or 7,000mAh, although the documentation itself lists 6,790mAh.

Moto G47 Power battery and charging

The larger battery is the main distinction currently known between the Moto G47 Power and the regular G47. The Power model will also support 33W fast charging, improving on the standard phone’s 20W charging support.

That combination could make the Moto G47 Power a more suitable option for users who prioritise battery endurance and shorter charging times. However, Motorola has not yet disclosed how the larger battery will affect the phone’s weight, thickness or overall design.

Expected Moto G47 Power specifications

A premature European retailer listing, highlighted by XpertPick, indicated that the phone will be available with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Other specifications remain unconfirmed.

The phone is expected to carry an IP64 rating for protection against dust and splashes, matching the regular Moto G47. The available information does not establish whether the Power model will share the rest of the standard phone’s hardware.

How it compares with the Moto G47

The Moto G47 has a 6.67-inch LCD with a 720x1604 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1,050 nits. It uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 chipset and includes a 108MP primary camera, a 2MP macro camera and an 8MP front-facing camera.

Motorola has not confirmed whether those display, chipset and camera specifications will carry over to the Moto G47 Power. For now, the battery, charging speed, water and dust resistance rating, and possible memory configuration are the key details associated with the new model.

The company has also not announced a release date or pricing for the Moto G47 Power. More information will be needed to determine whether it is simply a higher-endurance version of the G47 or a broader hardware refresh.
