Lava has officially launched the Virat Curve, a midrange Android smartphone built around a curved AMOLED display, MediaTek’s Dimensity 7100 processor, and a 6,000mAh battery. The phone will go on sale September 28 in three color options, with a special launch price of INR 19,999, or about $208.

Virat Curve display and performance

The Virat Curve features a 6.67-inch curved AMOLED screen with a 1080 x 2400 resolution. Its 120Hz refresh rate is designed to make scrolling and supported animations appear smoother, while the panel reaches a peak brightness of 1,100 nits.

Power comes from MediaTek’s Dimensity 7100 system-on-chip, paired with 6GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. This gives the phone a current midrange hardware configuration, with faster memory than older LPDDR4X-based designs and built-in storage using the UFS 2.2 standard.

Camera, battery, and hardware features

On the back, the phone uses a 50MP main camera based on Sony’s IMX752 sensor. A 13MP camera handles selfies and video calls on the front.

The 6,000mAh battery supports 45W wired charging. Lava includes a 33W charger in the box, so the packaged adapter does not provide the phone’s full stated charging capability.

Additional hardware features include dual speakers, dual microphones, an infrared blaster, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. The handset also carries an IP64 rating for protection against dust and splashes.

Android 16 software and update support

Lava says the Virat Curve runs “clean Android 16,” with no bloatware, ads, or notification ads. The company has promised two major operating system upgrades and three years of security updates.

That software policy gives buyers a defined support period, although Lava has not provided further details about the timing of those upgrades. The clean software approach also positions the phone around a less cluttered Android experience than devices that add extensive preinstalled apps or promotional notifications.

Price, colors, and availability

The Virat Curve will be available from September 28 in Heritage Indigo, Makrana Ivory, and Ellora Slate. Lava has set a special launch price of INR 19,999, with the company’s product page providing the official device information.
