Lava has confirmed that its Virat Curve smartphone will go on sale in India on September 21 at 12 PM local time. Ahead of the launch, the company detailed the phone's key specifications through a dedicated microsite on Flipkart, where the handset will be sold.

Display and performance

The Virat Curve features a 6.67-inch 3D curved AMOLED panel with a 1080x2400 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1,100 nits. Under the hood, it runs on MediaTek's Dimensity 7100 chipset, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

Powering the device is a 6,000 mAh battery that supports 45W wired fast charging, giving the phone a large capacity aimed at all-day use.

Cameras and the rear Mini Display

On the back, the Virat Curve carries a 50MP main camera built around Sony's IMX752 sensor. Lava has also added what it calls a "unique" Mini Display on the rear, which can show notifications, music controls, custom messages, battery status, and emojis. Secondary rear screens have become a talking point among manufacturers looking to differentiate mid-range phones, and Lava is positioning this feature as a highlight.

Build, software and colors

The phone includes dual speakers and carries an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance. It is also MIL-STD-810H certified for durability. On the software side, the Virat Curve runs a clean version of Android 16, and Lava has promised two major OS upgrades along with three years of security updates.

The back panel uses a fake leather finish, and the phone will be offered in two colorways: Heritage Indigo and Makrana Ivory.

Why it matters

Lava has been steadily building out its lineup in the competitive Indian mid-range segment, where features such as high-refresh curved displays, large batteries, and long software support increasingly influence buyers. By combining a curved AMOLED screen, a capable MediaTek chip, and an unusual secondary rear display at what is expected to be an accessible price, the Virat Curve aims to stand out in a crowded market. Full pricing details are expected when sales begin on September 21 through Flipkart.
