itel has launched the A300C in India, a budget Android phone that combines a rugged design with a large 6,000mAh battery. Priced at ₹11,000, the handset runs Android 16 Go Edition and includes 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage and support for microSD cards up to 2TB.
The phone is designed for buyers who want extra durability without moving into a higher price range. However, its 4G-only connectivity and lack of an official water- or dust-resistance rating are important limitations to consider.
Rugged construction without an IP rating
The itel A300C carries MIL-STD-810H certification and has undergone drop testing. That suggests it is built to handle more physical impact than a typical entry-level phone, although the certification does not replace an IP rating for protection against dust or water.
itel is also offering a free screen replacement during the first 100 days after purchase. The offer adds some protection for buyers concerned about accidental display damage, although the available details do not specify the conditions of the replacement program.
90Hz display and basic cameras
The A300C features a 6.56-inch LCD with a 720 x 1,612-pixel resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The higher refresh rate should make scrolling and supported animations appear smoother than on a standard 60Hz display, while the resolution remains typical for an affordable handset.
A 5MP selfie camera sits in a notch above the screen. On the rear, the phone uses an 8MP camera. These specifications position the A300C as a device for basic photography rather than advanced imaging.
6,000mAh battery and Android 16 Go Edition
The 6,000mAh battery is one of the phone's main features. It supports 18W charging through USB-C, and itel includes a charger in the box. The package also comes with a case.
Powering the handset is Unisoc's T7100 chipset, the same platform used in the itel A90. The A300C runs Android 16 Go Edition, Google's lighter Android version intended for phones with modest hardware. Storage can be expanded with a microSD card, giving users considerably more room for apps, photos and media than the built-in 64GB allows.
Other hardware includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, a speaker with DTS sound and a fingerprint reader integrated into the power button. The phone supports 4G but not 5G. While India has not set an official date to end 4G service, network operators are increasingly concentrating on their 5G rollouts.
itel A300C price and availability
The itel A300C costs ₹11,000 and will be sold through itel retail outlets across India as well as online. Its combination of a large battery, drop-tested construction and expandable storage makes it a practical option for budget buyers, provided 4G connectivity meets their needs.
