The iQOO Neo12 could arrive with one of the most unusual smartphone displays yet. A rumor from Digital Chat Station on Weibo claims the phone may use a Visionox OLED panel combining a 2K resolution with a 185Hz refresh rate.
If the claim is accurate, the panel would be the world's first mass-produced display to pair those two specifications. The same rumor also points to a new luminescent material designed to improve brightness, panel lifespan, and overall display performance.
iQOO has not confirmed the Neo12 or its specifications, so the display details should be treated as unverified for now.
What the rumored iQOO Neo12 display could offer
The reported panel would combine a high-resolution image with an unusually fast refresh rate. A 2K display could provide a sharper picture than lower-resolution screens, while 185Hz could make supported animations and motion appear smoother.
Most smartphones use lower refresh rates, although some gaming-focused models have pushed beyond the standard 120Hz mark. A 185Hz panel would therefore give the Neo12 a distinctive specification if it reaches a finished product.
Digital Chat Station said Visionox is developing the panel with a new luminescent material. According to the rumor, the material could bring improvements in three areas: peak brightness, operating lifespan, and general display performance. No measurements or technical details were provided.
Possible launch timing
The iQOO Neo11 was released in October of the previous year, putting a potential Neo12 launch around the same general period. Digital Chat Station said the iQOO device using this panel is expected to launch by the end of the month.
That timing makes the Neo12 a possible candidate, but it does not confirm that the rumored device is the successor. iQOO has also not announced a launch date or identified the model that will use the Visionox display.
Other rumored Neo12 specifications
An earlier rumor claimed the Neo12 could be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. iQOO has also reportedly been evaluating an active cooling fan for the phone.
It remains unclear whether the cooling fan will be included in the final product. Likewise, there is no confirmation that the rumored chipset, display, or new panel material will appear in a retail version of the Neo12.
If the reports prove accurate, the display could become the phone's main differentiator. However, details such as brightness levels, power consumption, panel size, gaming support, and pricing are still unknown.
