iQOO has officially revealed several key specifications for the upcoming Neo12, confirming that the phone will combine a high-resolution, high-refresh-rate OLED display with a large battery and active cooling system. The Neo12 is scheduled to launch in China this month, although iQOO has not yet announced an exact launch date.

The company has also opened pre-orders for the handset in China, giving prospective buyers an early opportunity to register interest before the formal unveiling.

2K OLED display with 185Hz refresh rate

The iQOO Neo12 will use an OLED panel supplied by Chinese display manufacturer Visionox. It will have a 2K resolution and a 185Hz refresh rate, specifications that should target users who prioritise sharp visuals and smooth motion, particularly during gaming.

Visionox’s AMOLED panel uses p-TSF technology. According to the information shared by iQOO, the technology is intended to extend the panel’s lifespan, lower power consumption and support accurate colour reproduction.

iQOO plans to provide additional information about the display technology during an event on October 14. The company has not yet disclosed other display details, such as the panel’s size or peak brightness.

Snapdragon chip and active cooling

Beyond the screen, iQOO confirmed that the Neo12 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. The phone will also include iQOO’s in-house Q3 gaming chipset, which is intended to support its gaming-focused performance features.

The handset will use a new Ice-Dome air cooling system with an active fan. This makes the Neo12 one of the more performance-oriented devices in iQOO’s upcoming lineup, although the company has not provided detailed information about the cooling system’s design or operating modes.

9,000mAh battery confirmed

Powering the iQOO Neo12 will be a 9,000mAh battery. That capacity is substantially larger than the batteries found in many mainstream smartphones, potentially giving the phone extended endurance during gaming and other demanding workloads.

iQOO has not yet revealed charging specifications, camera details, memory configurations or pricing. Those details may arrive alongside the remaining announcements leading up to the China launch.

For now, the confirmed specification list positions the Neo12 around three main features: a Visionox OLED display with 2K resolution and a 185Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 performance with active cooling, and a 9,000mAh battery.
