iQOO has launched the iQOO 16 in China, giving its latest flagship smartphone a large 8,400mAh battery, a 165Hz AMOLED display and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset. The phone also brings a triple 50MP rear camera system, fast wired and wireless charging, and Android 17 with vivo’s OriginOS 7.

The iQOO 16 is currently confirmed for China. The company has not announced global availability or pricing, although earlier iQOO models eventually reached markets outside the country.

iQOO 16 display and performance

The phone uses a 6.85-inch Samsung-made M16 AMOLED panel with a 1440x3168 resolution and a 19.8:9 aspect ratio. Its 165Hz refresh rate is designed to provide smoother scrolling and motion in supported games and applications.

iQOO lists a localized peak brightness of up to 10,000 nits, while the display’s full-screen peak brightness reaches 2,800 nits. The handset is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and combines it with LPDDR5X Ultra memory and UFS 4.1 storage.

Triple 50MP camera system

On the back, the iQOO 16 has a 50MP main camera with a 1/1.3-inch-type sensor and optical image stabilization. It is joined by a 50MP autofocus ultrawide camera using a 1/2.75-inch-type sensor.

The third camera is a 50MP periscope telephoto with optical stabilization and a 1/1.95-inch-type sensor. It supports 3x optical zoom, 6x “lossless” zoom and up to 100x digital zoom. A fixed-focus 32MP camera handles selfies.

Battery, charging and durability

The 8,400mAh battery is among the phone’s headline features. It supports 100W wired charging and 40W wireless charging, giving buyers both high-capacity power storage and two charging options.

Protection includes IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. The phone also uses an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner built into the display.

iQOO 16 price and configurations

iQOO will sell the phone in three color options whose names roughly translate to “Chasing Light,” “Racetrack” and “Legend.” Depending on the finish, the handset measures between 8.3mm and 8.55mm thick and weighs from 222.5g to 229.8g.

All listed prices are for the Chinese market. iQOO has not yet provided details about a potential international release.
