Honor’s rumored wide foldable phone may not arrive by the end of the year after all. A new post from a well-known Weibo leaker claims Honor is now preparing to launch the device in January, although the company has not officially announced the product or its release schedule.

The reported delay would move the phone beyond the previously rumored year-end launch window. Honor has not confirmed whether the device exists, so its specifications, name and availability remain unverified.

Honor may position the foldable as a major product

According to the Weibo report, the phone will launch with a “very rich” accessory ecosystem. That claim suggests Honor could be treating the wide foldable as an important product category rather than a limited experiment.

An expanded accessory range could help Honor distinguish the device from other foldables, although the report does not identify which accessories may be offered. It also does not provide pricing or information about the markets where the phone could go on sale.

Rumored Honor foldable specifications

Earlier rumors from July described a high-end hardware package for Honor’s wide foldable. The device was said to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset, although the processor name and its inclusion remain unconfirmed.

The same report claimed the foldable could feature a 7.6-inch main screen and a 5.5-inch cover display. That configuration would give users a large internal panel for multitasking and media while retaining a more conventional external screen for everyday use.

Camera hardware was also part of the earlier speculation. The phone was reportedly being developed with a 200-megapixel primary camera and a periscope telephoto camera. A battery with a capacity above 7,000mAh was also mentioned, which would be unusually large for a foldable phone if it reaches production.

What remains unknown about the launch

Honor has not confirmed the January timing, the rumored specifications or the accessory plans. The latest information comes from an unnamed well-known leaker on Weibo, so it should be treated as a rumor rather than a firm launch announcement.

The January timing could give Honor additional time to finalize the device and its supporting products. Until the company provides official details, the phone’s final design, availability, pricing and specifications remain open questions.
