Honor has revealed the Chinese pricing for one version of its upcoming Magic9 smartphone ahead of the series’ official unveiling on September 28. The 16GB RAM and 512GB storage model will normally cost CNY 6,499, or about $968, according to Honor CEO Li Jian.

Honor will offer the configuration at CNY 5,999, approximately $893, as part of a promotion marking the Magic series’ 10th anniversary. Buyers in China may be able to reduce the price further to CNY 5,499, or around $819, through a national subsidy.

Magic9 pricing and competing phones

The disclosed price positions the Magic9 below several comparable flagship configurations in China. The recently launched vivo X500 costs CNY 5,999 with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, although vivo does not offer that model with 16GB of RAM.

The 16GB and 512GB vivo X500 Pro is priced at CNY 7,999. That matches the listed price of the Xiaomi 18 Pro, while the Oppo Find X10 costs CNY 6,499. On its promotional price, the Magic9 therefore undercuts the directly comparable X500 Pro by CNY 2,000.

Rumored Magic9 specifications

Honor has not yet confirmed the full specification list in the available pricing announcement. Earlier reports have attributed a 6.37-inch LTPS OLED display to the Magic9, with a 1236-by-2664 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.

The phone is also rumored to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Its reported camera setup includes a 200MP main camera with a 1/1.4-inch-type sensor, a 50MP ultrawide camera and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera.

The telephoto camera is said to offer 3.5x optical zoom and use a 1/1.56-inch-type sensor. A 55MP square-format front-facing camera has also been mentioned in the reported specifications.

Large battery and fast charging

The Magic9 is rumored to feature an 8,000mAh battery, which would give the phone a substantial capacity compared with many current flagship smartphones. Reported charging support includes 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

Honor is expected to provide more information about the Magic9 series when it makes the phones official on September 28. For now, the announced price applies specifically to the 16GB/512GB version in China, while details about other configurations and international availability remain unconfirmed.
