Honor is reportedly developing a smartphone with a rear display, following a design approach recently associated with Xiaomi’s Pro-series phones. The feature is expected to appear in the Honor 700 series and may be reserved for the Honor 700 Pro, according to a leak from Digital Chat Station on Weibo.
The rumor describes a 1.72-inch screen on the back of the phone. It does not identify the display’s exact position, however, leaving open whether Honor will place it within the camera module or elsewhere on the rear panel.
Honor 700 Pro specifications reportedly revealed
According to the leak, the possible Honor 700 Pro would use a 6.57-inch flat display on the front. The panel is said to have “1.5K” resolution and symmetrical ultra-narrow bezels, although the report does not provide a more specific resolution figure or any details about its refresh rate.
The phone is also expected to feature a 200MP primary camera. That camera specification had reportedly appeared in an earlier rumor, but the latest information does not explain which additional cameras may be included or how the rear display would interact with the camera system.
Rear display location remains unclear
The central unanswered question is where Honor intends to install the secondary screen. Xiaomi’s 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max helped bring rear displays into wider attention last year, and successors to those phones are expected to launch later this month. The Honor design may follow a similar layout, but that has not been confirmed.
A screen positioned near the cameras could offer a way to view framing for selfies or display other information, but the available report does not specify any intended functions. Until Honor provides more information, the screen’s purpose and placement remain unconfirmed.
What the leak does not confirm
Digital Chat Station’s report does not establish whether the phone will definitely be called the Honor 700 Pro. It says the device is most likely that model, meaning the feature could potentially belong to another handset in the Honor 700 lineup.
Honor has not confirmed the rear display, the 6.57-inch front panel, or the 200MP camera in the available information. Details such as launch timing, pricing, markets, processor, battery and software are also still unknown. For now, the reported rear screen is best treated as an unconfirmed design detail rather than a finalized product specification.
