Google’s next Fitbit fitness tracker has reportedly been revealed ahead of its expected launch later this month. Called the Fitbit Edge, the device is expected to replace the Fitbit Charge and sit between the Fitbit Air and Pixel Watch 5 in Google’s wearable lineup.

The design and feature details come from a report by Android Headlines, following an earlier accidental appearance in Google Australia promotional images during the Pixel 11 series launch. Google has not been identified as formally announcing the tracker.

Fitbit Edge design and display

Leaked images show the Fitbit Edge with an oval touchscreen and a physical button on its right side. The rear appears to include a sensor array that is slightly more advanced than the one used by the Fitbit Air.

The tracker is also expected to use a pinch-based system for changing its bands. Promotional material reportedly shows five color options, including three shades designed to match the Google Pixel 11 Pro series.

Like other Fitbit trackers, the Edge would focus on health and exercise monitoring rather than offering the broader app experience of a smartwatch. Its display is expected to provide fewer functions than the Pixel Watch, but it should still display notifications.

GPS, battery life and fitness tracking

The Fitbit Edge is reportedly set to include built-in GPS and support up to seven days of battery life. The report also points to precise GPS tracking, automatic activity recognition and elevation tracking as key capabilities.

Those features would position the Edge as a more capable tracker for outdoor workouts while keeping the simpler form factor associated with Fitbit’s Charge range. The reported battery life would also give it a significant endurance focus compared with many full-featured smartwatches.

Apps, compatibility and expected price

Although the tracker will not offer the full software experience of the Pixel Watch, it is expected to provide limited support for apps including YouTube Music and Google Maps. That could allow users to access selected smartwatch-style features without moving to a larger watch design.

A promotional image reportedly confirms compatibility with both Android and iOS devices. This would preserve Fitbit’s cross-platform appeal rather than limiting the product to Google’s mobile ecosystem.

Android Headlines reports that Google could price the Fitbit Edge between $149 and $199. That would place it above the Fitbit Air and below the Pixel Watch 5, matching the device’s reported position as a middle option between a basic fitness tracker and a full smartwatch.

Google is reportedly planning to unveil the Fitbit Edge later this month. Until the company provides official details, its name, pricing, availability and final specifications should be treated as unconfirmed.
