Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra will bring new MediaTek processors, updated battery configurations and some camera changes, according to leaked specifications. The information points to a relatively modest upgrade over the previous generation, with European prices also reportedly rising for the Ultra model.

WinFuture reports that both tablets will use MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset. That processor replaces the Dimensity 9400+ in the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra and the Dimensity 9300+ in the Galaxy Tab S10+. MediaTek has not released a Dimensity 9500+ processor, leaving the standard Dimensity 9500 as the expected choice for Samsung’s new tablets.

Galaxy Tab S12+ camera and battery changes

The Galaxy Tab S12+ is expected to feature a single 13MP rear camera. This would be a change from the Galaxy Tab S10+, which included an additional 8MP ultrawide camera. The leaked specifications do not indicate that Samsung will retain that secondary camera for the new model.

The tablet is also expected to receive a 10,600mAh battery, up from the 10,090mAh unit listed for the Galaxy Tab S10+. Charging support reportedly remains capped at 45W. At 5.3mm, the S12+ would be 0.3mm thinner than its predecessor.

EPREL labels shared by Roland Quandt list a battery rating of 1,200 charge cycles for the Tab S12+. The labels also give the tablet a rated battery life of 80 hours and 34 minutes, compared with 73 hours and 44 minutes for the Tab S10+. The improvement could reflect the newer chipset and possibly a more efficient display, rather than the battery increase alone.

Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra specifications

The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is expected to retain a 14.6-inch display with a notch for its 12MP front-facing camera. Its rear camera system reportedly consists of a 12MP main camera and an 8MP ultrawide camera, matching the configuration described for the previous Ultra model.

The Ultra is expected to remain 5.1mm thick and use an 11,600mAh battery with 45W charging. Its listed battery life is 88 hours and 54 minutes, down from 94 hours and 51 minutes for the 2025 Ultra model. The battery is also rated for 1,200 charge cycles, while the previous Plus model was listed at 2,000 cycles.

Both tablets are reportedly rated IP68 for dust and water resistance. Their Wi-Fi and 5G versions have the same listed battery-life ratings, while EPREL assigns them a low drop-resistance rating and an average repairability rating.

Leaked European prices and launch timing

According to the reported European pricing, the Galaxy Tab S12+ will start at €1,300 for Wi-Fi connectivity, 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The 512GB Wi-Fi model is listed at €1,500, while 5G versions are priced at €1,450 and €1,650 for 256GB and 512GB, respectively.

The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is reportedly priced from €1,540 for the 12GB/256GB Wi-Fi model. The 512GB Wi-Fi version is listed at €1,740, with 5G configurations costing €1,690 and €1,890. Doubling storage adds €200, while 5G connectivity adds €150.

Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Tab S12 series on October 7, although the company has not officially confirmed the launch date or the leaked specifications.
